JUNE 2010 CALENDAR

June 1 Tues. - 9:45 Child Abuse Prevention Puppet Show for grades 3 and 4. Parents are
welcome.
- Ms. Hernandez will return to work after her medical leave.

June 5 Sat. - Grade 8 Graduates Dinner Dance at 7:00.

June 7 Mon. - NYS Science Written Test for grades 4 and 8.
- Kindergarten Sesame Street Party in the auditorium. Parents are welcome.
- 12:00 Mass in Transfiguration Parish to celebrate Father Paul’s 30th
Anniversary as a Priest. See note #1 below.
- Banking Day.

June 9 Wed. - Grade 8 Baccalaureate Mass at 10:00 AM in Church. All are welcome.
- Scholastic Uniform Company will be in the auditorium at 8:00 AM to
measure for fall uniforms.
- Uniform Swap and Shop in Kindergarten Play Room. See note #3 below.

June 10 Thurs. - SCHOOL CLOSED. Professional Day for Teachers.

June 11 Fri. - Grade 8 Graduation at 4:30 in Church. All are welcome.
- First payment of tuition is due for the 2010-2011 school year.

June 14 Mon. - NYS Social Studies Test Part I for grade 8. .
- The 2009-2010 School Year In Pictures Assembly.
- Banking Day.

June 15 Tues. - 12:00 DISMISSAL. Teachers must go to the marking center to mark NYS
tests.
- NYS Social Studies Test Part II for grade 8.

June 18 Fri. - Last day for Pre K and Kindergarten.
- PreK Celebration at 9:00 AM in the auditorium.
- Kindergarten Celebration at 10:00 AM in the auditorium.
- Last day for Before and After School Program. .

June 20 Sun. - Happy Fathers’ Day.

June 21 Mon. - 11:00 DISMISSAL BEGINS. Teachers must mark NYS tests.
- 8:30 AWARDS CEREMONY. Parents please join us.
- Last Banking Day.

June 22 Tues. - 11:00 DISMISSAL.
- Textbooks will be collected in all classes.
- Orientation for New Students and “Moving Up Day” for St. Stan’s Students
at 10:00. See note #4 below.

June 23 Wed. - 11:00 DISMISSAL.

June 24 Thurs. - 11:00 DISMISSAL.

June 25 Fri. - 10:00 DISMISSAL.
- LAST DAY OF SCHOOL. Report cards will be distributed to students before
dismissal. See note #5 below.

NOTES

1.On Monday, June 7th Father Paul will be celebrating his 30th Anniversary as a priest. He will be celebrating the Noon Mass at Transfiguration, and invites those who attend the Mass to join him for lunch afterwards in the Parish hall at Transfiguration. If you plan to attend the lunch, please call the rectory and let them know so that they can prepare appropriately.

2.Parents wishing to “Swap and Shop” and share uniforms that are still usable but your child can no longer use, may do so on June 9. Having extra uniform pieces may be helpful in an emergency next year. All clothing must be clean and in good condition. We thank Patricia Leisenheimer for providing this service for us.

3.Summer Reading and Skill Review Assignments will be distributed to all students in grades 1 – 7 on Tuesday, June 22. We encourage parents to be positive about the summer reading so that it is an enjoyable and rewarding experience for the children rather than being a punishment.

4.The Final Report Card will be distributed to students on Friday, June 25 before dismissal at 10:00. If special arrangements need to be made to have a Report Card mailed home, please provide a stamped envelope ready for mailing. The Report Card will be put in the mail after June 25. No Report Card will be released unless all payments are complete.

5.A list of instructional and recreational programs that are available during the summer months will be sent home with the Report Card on June 25. Further information about the programs can be received by calling the phone numbers indicated on the list.

6.May all of our school families enjoy a safe, restful, and relaxing summer. We encourage all to be faithful to the responsibility of Sunday worship during the summer. Thank you for a great year!
