For Parents:
Traditionally, you sent your children off to school and never heard from the school unless something went wrong. By then it was usually too late to do anything about it. If you’re lucky enough to send your children to a school that uses Extreme School Site then your child has the advantage of getting full multimedia instruction, not just paper and chalkboards.
Schools that use Extreme School Site communicate through secure internal email accounts and class websites that are unique for each class. Teachers use PowerPoint presentations as well as Excel and Word documents in their instruction. The students can also take advantage of WebQuests, which are a collection of websites centered on a certain topic.
Parents are kept up to date with Class Newsletters, which also contain photos of work done in the classroom. Important dates are listed on each Class’ individual Calendar.
Should the need arise a teacher can send you an internal secure email to advise you of your students’ challenges in various areas.
Parents are also kept informed of school-wide events through the use of the schools’ website and calendars. The Principal has a specific page where they can keep you up-to-date of important school news.
You would have all of this…if you were lucky enough!
